Eating real food as part of an anti-inflammatory regimen includes foods that are high in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber, such as fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, whole grains, nuts and seeds, fish, and lean proteins.

Eating foods that are rich in antioxidants helps protect cells from damage caused by free radicals which can be produced during intense physical activity. Omega-3 fatty acids are important for muscle growth and repair while fiber helps keep digestion regular which is important for athletes who are pushing their bodies hard. By eating a balanced diet full of anti-inflammatory foods athletes can ensure they are getting the nutrients they need to stay healthy and perform at their best.

What does it mean to 'unpickle' yourself? For the last 60 years we have been eating worse and worse. We eat stuff that is preserved in chemicals that our bodies don't know how to process. We consume way more than we ever should and as a result we pickle our bodies with a bunch of junk that has led to obscene obesity rates and skyrocketing healthcare costs.
